A young mute woman, living in a small village, is expecting a baby. Her husband is at the same time writing a novel and using the villagers as his characters. In the creative process, reality and imagination are constantly intertwined.

The play tells the story of a young couple, Cathy (played by Carol White) and Reg (Ray Brooks). Initially their relationship flourishes and they have a child and move into a modern home. When Reg is injured and loses his well-paid job, they are evicted by bailiffs, and they face a life of poverty and unemployment, illegally squatting in empty houses and staying in shelters. Finally, Cathy has her children taken away by social services.

A group of insane asylum inmates flee a broken-down bus and occupy a nearby farmhouse. As they form a collective threaded by bizarre exercises and slapstick setups, the film spirals out into a freewheeling comedy of disorder, told with unusual verve and intensity, and featuring a dissonant, if deranged, soundtrack by free jazz innovator Ornette Coleman and his trio.

Middle-aged banker Arthur Hamilton is given the opportunity to start a completely new life when he receives calls from his old friend Charlie. The only problem is that Charlie is supposed to be dead. Hamilton is eventually introduced to a firm that will fake his death and create an entirely new look and life for him. After undergoing physical reconstruction surgery and months of training and psychotherapy, Hamilton returns to the world in the form of artist Tony Wilson. He has a nice house in Malibu and a manservant, a company employee who is there to assist him with his adjustment. Life at the border is very tough. The land is stony and dry, farmers plough fields of sand and illegal trafficking seems to be the only way to make a living. In Deliviran, a village near Urfa close to the Syrian border, Hidir’s chief is involved in smuggling and gets shot. Hidir tries to stay out of illegal activities but circumstances contrive to push him in the opposite direction until he accepts to take a herd of sheep across the border. Amidst poverty and the landmines Hidir struggles to keep his dream and his young son alive.

这是一个美好的春天。一群欢快健壮的女青年，正在某空军机关整装待发，她们是来学习飞行的，也是新中国未来的第一批女飞行员。在这群学员中，有个穿着陆军军服、热情奋发的女战士，显得格外英姿飒爽，她叫林雪征，是革命烈士的后代，共产党员，长期在革命部队受过锻炼。还有个杨巧妹，是从农村人民公社来的，她纯朴而秀气，在旧社会受尽欺压，当过童养媳。另一个女学员叫项菲，穿花裙，扎长辫，自信好胜，极富幻想，怀有一种强烈的飞上祖国蓝天的心愿。她出身教员家庭，是在城市里长大的中学生。此外，学员中还有干部子女于虹，她刚正不阿；工人的女儿肖玲玲，她天真稚气。她们带着不同的身世和经历，来到了空军航校。　　新的生活开始了，尽管她们有着为祖国飞行事业献身的决心，但要飞上天，还得要有坚强的毅力，付出艰苦的劳动。教她们飞行的教员郭华翔，是从国民党空军解放入伍的，曾在美国留过学。在党的教育下，他虽然努力追求进步，可是在教学思想上，洋教条洋框框很多，不能联系实际，他讲课，学生越听越糊涂。校党委为了加强教学工作，又调来杨德。杨德是共产党员，工农干部，是林雪征在朝鲜战场上的战友。他从陆军调来学习飞行，积累了一些经验。起初，他对女学员能否成为一名坚强的空军战士有怀疑。但他怀着深厚的阶级感情，想方设法，联系实际，采用容易被学员理解和掌握的实物教学方法，提高了学员的学习能力。林雪征和杨巧妹文化水平低，在学习航空理论时遇到了困难。在飞行训练中，林雪征又因腿部负过伤，在飞机着陆时产生了“左偏”难点，面临被淘汰的可能。项菲虽然文化水平高，理论学习较好，但由于她受了资产阶级思想的影响，在学习中碰到困难时，表现得不坚强。艰苦的思想改造和体质锻炼考验着她们每一个人。为了使她们树立起坚强的革命世界观，王政委坚定地运用毛泽东思想，针对每个人的不同情况，给予不同的教育和帮助，从而使她们增强了信心。林雪征以不怕苦、不怕牺牲的革命精神，顽强地练腿功，终于克服了“左偏”难点。杨巧妹也以强烈的阶级感情，从《愚公移山》等毛主席著作中，找到了攻克理论难点的力量。她不分昼夜地勤学苦练基本功，因而在第一次放单飞时，取得了优异成绩。项菲虽在第一次放单飞没合格，加之男朋友的影响，动摇了事业心，想离开部队，但她在党的教育和集体的关怀帮助下，批判了自己的资产阶级人生观，树立了全心全意为人民服务的思想，最后也飞上了蓝天。
